Generation 120+ High end within secondary and final packaging

World première at Interpack 2017: SOMIC to present the 424 W3 ddx – an impressive high-end machine. Especially true when it comes to packaging coffee capsules for example: the 424 W3 ddx can process up to 20 capsules per second. It also offers many other benefits at the same time – see it live in action at SOMIC’s stand.

With the 424 W3 ddx, SOMIC presents a cycled packaging machine which has broken new ground in terms of its output in areas previously reserved for continuous machines only. The main question during the development process was: What do customers really desire? In addition to performance, a compact design with small dimensions and excellent flexibility were particularly in demand. With the SOMIC 424 W3 ddx, even the most discerning customers will find the most compact and quickest solution on the market to meet these challenges. The new 424 W3 ddx also offers the usual flexibility of SOMIC’s packaging machines.

The new machine is based on the familiar SOMIC modular system. It was therefore possible to incorporate tried-and-tested components in highly innovative ways with minimal development time. The results are impressive: The SOMIC 424 W3 ddx is a cutting edge packaging machine setting new standards in cycled secondary and final packaging machines with an output of 120+ folding boxes per minute. The machine can be adapted to a variety of small products and can be used for various product groups. Operation has also been simplified: The machine can now also be controlled via a wireless second HMI iPad using a WLAN connection, while the brand new SOMIC Wiki provides an overview of all machine components and functions including replacement part lists and numbers. Another technical highlight is the fully automatic format changeover in the collating unit. This means that different formats can be processed within a single machine without the need for time-consuming alterations.

SOMIC has been manufacturing secondary and final packaging machines for over 40 years and is regarded highly by its customers worldwide as a mayor global player and a medium-sized company. The family-run company is headquartered in Bavaria and currently employs approximately 300 staff. With a branch near Chicago in the USA, the company is also well positioned for the future.
